چکیده

This paper describes the study of a simple two-branch current reference where the sum of branch currents (that is, the total current) is compensated with temperature. This approach is the most adequate when the reference must supply current in a charge with grounded or connected to voltage-supply end. The second-order thermal compensation of the reference current is analyzed here. The equation representing the total-current compensation condition is deduced. The current reference is designed in a CMOS 0.35μm process and his quality has been verified by computer simulation. The simulation results show the possibility of achieving good performances: a complete variation smaller than 0.45%, for a total current of 8...15μA, across a temperature range of 0 100 o C. The first-order temperature-compensated total-current reference does the object of another paper, submitted in the same Conference. First-Order Temperature-Compensated Total-Current Reference

This paper includes the study of a known very simple reference current source, having two branches, where the temperature-compensation of the sum of branch currents (the total current) is done. This kind of approach is adequate when the reference must supply current in a charge with grounded or connected to voltage supply end. The first-order thermal compensation of the reference current is ana...

Temperature-compensated CMOS current reference circuit for ultralow-power subthreshold LSIs

This paper proposes a low-current reference circuit for power-aware LSI applications. The circuit consists of two current generation subcircuits which are based on β-multiplier circuit, one with a positive and the other with a negative temperature coefficient. The variation of the reference current in a sample circuit designed to produce a current of 230 nA can be kept very small within ±1.3% i...

3 ppm Ultra Wide Range Curvature Compensated Bandgap Reference

In this report a current mode bandgap with a temperature coefficient of 3 ppm for the range from -117◦C to 144◦C is presented. 2nd order curvature compensation is used by using a third BJT with a temperature constant current and a second error amplifier to get a nonlinear temperature coefficient current in extra to enhance the accuracy. The required minimum supply voltage is 1.3V for 3ppm and 1...

A Floating Gate MOSFET Based Novel Programmable Current Reference

In this paper a scheme is proposed for generating a programmable current reference which can be implemented in the CMOS technology. The current can be varied over a wide range by changing an external voltage applied to one of the control gates of FGMOS (Floating Gate MOSFET). For a range of supply voltages and temperature, CMOS current reference is found to be dependent, this dependence is comp...
